I’m considering leaving mine as bare wood – I’ve bought a gold pen which is specially designed for writing on wood to write our guests’ names on.

Alternatively, I’m going to buy some of this spray paint: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rust-Oleum-Painters-Touch-Candy-Pink-Gloss-Spray-Paint-400ml-/200749453031?pt=UK_DIY_Material_Paint_Varnish_MJhash=item2ebd998ee7 which is designed for craft projects and use on wood in particular, as the pale pink colour will hopefully tie in with our theme. I’ll then write the guests’ names on with the gold pen.

Edited to say that the spray paint I’ve linked to above dries in 20 minutes so if you’re anything like me and ridiculously excited about seeing how things turn out, they’ll be ready in no time!

I’m using my gran’s wedding ring, as my wedding ring, I was given it when she died when I was 16

It’s a plain yellow gold band, and it’s only a litte bit too big for me, and I decided that I wanted some new diamonds set into it, so I took it into a jewellers today to see if it was possible

she was lovely, and so helpful, and she’s getting it resized for me, and 4 diamonds set into it in a square setting, and told me it’s definitely 22ct

So it’ll kind of look like this, but with 4 stones…

and the diamonds will be set like this…

and it’ll be done in about 2-3 weeks, so excited, it’ll be totally unique and I’m so happy I can wear my gran’s ring

H2b I have been together 10 years, we met when I was 18 and he was 23. We soon moved in together and bought our first house in 2004 and then our 2nd in 2005, soon after our son arrived in 2006 and then a daughter in 2008, we have wanted to get married for quite a while but never got round to doing it with the kids etc
Now is a good time with the children being of the age to be involved, we were originally going to go abroad but h2b’s family had a good moan and we changed our plans
We are having a loose purple colour theme, not to overdone.
We have 70 during the day 150 evening guests, arrival drinks canapés, meal etc then we are having mini fish chips, Thai curry, mince dumplings some I can’t even remember on the evening, we have a band playing and they are doing the music in between sets to, the bridal party have rooms at the venue a nice breakfast the morning after

This is our ceremony venue, lovely village church

Our reception venue is a village pub, we have exclusive use and the bedrooms it is really modern inside

We’ve only just started planning and I’m still throwing a couple of different themes through in my mind. Is it ok to start thinking of a venue although you don’t have a colour scheme or general theme in mind?

Also what kind of questions should I ask/expect to be asked?
